At Oldmixon Primary School, we have a new position open for an office administrator to join a friendly administrative team, providing an efficient point of contact within our school office.
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive administrator to provide comprehensive support across our general school administration functions. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our school office.
Hours: 25 hours per week, term-time only to include 25 inset hours, Monday to Friday 9.30am-2:30pm
Actual Salary: E4 - £16,115.95

Key responsibilities:
You’ll be responsible for overseeing the reception facility, answering calls and dealing with face-to-face enquiries, signing in visitors and ensuring all visitors are appropriately monitored, as well as providing general clerical and administrative support and maintaining school records.
Act as a first point of contact for parents, pupils, and visitors, providing a professional and welcoming reception service.
Maintain accurate records on school IT systems and single central record (SRC).
Support with pupil admissions and statutory census returns.
Assist with school communications, newsletters, events, and website updates.
Contribute to resource planning and procurement processes.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Experience of working in an administrative or customer-facing role.
- Friendly, professional and approachable manner.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Positive approach, professionalism, and empathy with the ethos and aims of our school and trust.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in a school environment.
- Experience using school management information systems
- Knowledge of school attendance procedures.
- Previous administrative experience in a confidential environment; experience in a school setting desirable.
